OK I have just found out that the woods on my land have hazle nut trees and that their are 100's if not 1000's of colonies in the nuts on the ground. I have collect two colonies. One colony has about 25 adult ants, 10 eggs, 15 larvae, and 5 pupae. The other I am not sure as I did not open the nut all the way. Their is a large brood pile in it and I have seen at least 5 adults poke their heads out of the hole in the nut. Once I finish the formicarium for them I will get a better count of them. I will also try to get some good pictures of them as soon as I get a camra that can take good enough pictures of them.

Nice to know Lucian, thank you for joining. Are you housing both colony's together when you've made your formicarium? I would love to see pictures but could you restrict the size of them to 500x500 please, and If possible host them on something like Photobucket and just copy the IMG code?
